Consensus is worth nothing. You get paid for being right when the room is wrong. And there has never been a tool that could tell you where the room is wrong, because every one of them was built out of the room.
Nineteen hundred scouts in one league, and then seventeen hundred. A fifth of the profession gone in a year. One club cut twenty-three. The league's own bureau let go its last five men, with eighty years of service between them. The ones cut were the oldest, the most experienced, and the best paid, and seventeen of them had to sue to say so out loud. They are not unionised. There is not a single scout in the Hall of Fame.
And what replaced them was trained on what you already wrote.
Every tool in this market learned from scouting reports and scouting boards. It learned the consensus. So it produces the consensus, in a nicer interface, and calls it intelligence. That is not a second opinion. It is a mirror with a subscription fee, and a mirror cannot tell you the room is wrong, because the room is what it is made of.
Two independent reasoners agreeing is a strong signal. Two reasoners where one is copying the other is worth nothing at all. They sold your clubs the second one.
What used to take a department, one man can do. That was never the argument for firing you. It was the argument for arming you.
Everything else in this market tells you where it agrees with you. This tells you where it does not.
Every player on earth, already read. An independent second opinion that can never absorb your view. And a record of the calls you got right.
